Heat Whips: Essentially an upgraded form of the classic heat rod, the heat whips use the latest high-tech ceramics and alloys to create a weapon is tough, flexible, and can maintain an extremely high heat for long periods of time. Due to their thin build and low mass compared to a standard heat weapon, they do less damage per strike...however, those same factors mean they swing extremely fast, can be wrapped around a limb quite easily, and they even take very little wear and tear from beam sabers, as the contact forces them away before any real damage can be done. The size also means, combined with long arms for storage, that they have much more range than normal heat rods, stretching out nearly eighteen meters fully extended.
