Posts: 589 (12/11/08 17:05:28) Gates District Attorney Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None If sound could be heard in space, the Federation forces would have heard the myriad of sounds coming from the Lunarian forces as they approached the combat zone, a small distance of less than 10 kilometers from their objective, the enemy defense forces were no doubt already scrambled. The ships were battle ready and the crew was on alert as the Longinus, Yaldabaoth and Archeron had already begun launch sequences as Mobile Suits flew everywhere, entering position and setting themselves up in their own squads, total of three squads with six Mobile Suits each. The last pilots left inside of the ships were the aces which had been assigned to the strike force, three rather young pilots who'd been chosen to lead each of the three Mobile Suit squads individually. The 'Alpha' squadron which was led by a pilot by the name of Lian consisted of a single Commander-type Geara Zulu and five 'Royal Guard' type ones as they'd come to be known. The Commander-type sported the standard armament while the Geara Zulus sported the machine guns in one hand and their beam axes in the other. Unlike the other forces on the battlefield at the moment, it consisted of mercenaries from a certain corporation rather than actual Lunarian soldiers, so they'd chosen to spearhead the main attack. The rest of the ships began to slow down though they continued to approach, each ship was under a different command and would be using different strategies, though the general strategy of the battle had already been decided. This made things a bit more chaotic but it went both ways, since it would most likely confuse the Federation forces greatly. Meanwhile, as each squadron took their respective positions and formations, the launch sequence for the Lunarian's latest secret project began, this battle would be the testing ground for two different prototypes recently engineering by the Lunarians. That was the true purpose behind the battle, they were to determine their effectiveness and combat capabilities against a real enemy. The first one up was the leader of the mercenary team which was taking part in the battle. ---- Inside the ship's hangar, mechanics and engineers were still toiling away at Lian's Mobile Suit, it had been a few minutes after they entered combat stations that he was finally cleared for launch. This was his first time piloting this unit so it took him a few moments to get the hang of walking as it moved into the platform, the strange looking black-and-white machine was the strapped to the catapult and a countdown began inside of the cockpit, large red letters counting down the time 'till he finally got to test out his new weapon. 1...2...3...LAUNCH And suddenly, Lian was pushed back into the cockpit seat, a strong force pushing him back as the machine was sent hurling out into space at a high-speed. It was a few moments after launch that he ignited the thrusters and steadied the unit and moved to join his squadron. He was finally going to fight, it was time to test the Hand of Retribution, a fitting name for the machine he'd received after the events that had taken place on Earth for him recently. In the right hand, a large axe-like object was held, the beam emitters shut off so the beam edge was off. As if the giant transformable unit wasn't strange looking enough in MS mode, its name came from the fact that it could transform into a giant hand, capable of crushing Mobile Suits with a combination of sheer force and the I-Field it possessed. Though he'd been warned to keep the I-Field shut off until he needed it, to avoid overheating. ---- Aeon Teleos: 1 x Rewloola-class Yaldabaoth; slowly advancing from the back of the battlefield 1 x Hand of Retribution(PC); joining with Zulu squadron 1 x Commander-type Geara Zulu w/ 200mm Long Rifle; heading 'Alpha' squadron as it positions to spearhead the attack 5 x Royal Guard-type Geara Zulu w/ beam machine guns in left hand and beam axes in right hand; positioning themselves to spearhead the attack OOC: Since we're all in different squadrons, Bec and Shadow, you handle your own squadron's ship or tell me if you want me to just handle it all as a whole. It's up to you what you do with your MPs too. Remember, 6 Jenices for you, Bec and 2 Xeku Eins of each armament type for Shadow. It fit very well over most of his body, but the chest was a little tighter than he'd have liked. It would get looser with time, but he hadn't participated in many sorties since boarding the Longinus. The PA system announced air would be drained from the hanger in 90 seconds. It followed up with an order for all pilots active in Operation Völuspá to launch 60 seconds after that. Fastening his helmet preemptively, he kicked off the floor with minimal force and took hold of one of the hallway's lift grips. On a Dogosse Giere-class ship, these were even more essential to movement, as hallways could span over 75 metres straight in certain parts. Proper operation of them was essential, which wasn't helped by the fact they were not only of unique handle design (said to be designed for comfort, but this was debated amongst the crew as being a coverup to reduce costs where possible), but also a fair deal faster than your common lift grip. A few metres before he reached the ending curve of the liftgrip, Mike released his handhold on it and swung his legs forward very slowly, at the same time making a minor upward motion with his arms to bring him to a steady landing on the floor. Stopping was one of the hardest parts of lift grip usage, but he'd come to master it through his time living on the ship. Lowering the internal visor of his helmet, the air supply within his normal suit engaged. This brought with it a noticable change in the air's taste - a far more carbon, "packaged" smell - which quickly faded as he got used to it. He checked a built-in watch on the wrist of his normal suit - 70 more seconds until the air was drained. The door infront of him slid open to the side quickly at the press of a button, and slid back just as quickly two seconds after he walked through it. "So this is the new prototype..." Mikhail declared, staring over the railing at the simply massive machine below him. Standing two, perhaps almost three times the size of contemporary MS, it dwarfed anything else in the hanger. He had kept up with the production of the machine, having provided input and been tested several times in what were referred to as "compatability" tests. Despite this, seeing it now, it truly stunned him how large the machine was. He thought how fitting it was such a large mobile suit was being deployed from such a large ship, but vocalized nothing of the sort. He turned to a technician crossing the catwalk he was standing on behind him, stopping him to verify the name of the machine. "The Quin Mantha - I'm not entirely sure what it means..." Responded the man, obviously in a bit of a hurry to clear the hanger before the bay doors opened. The Quin Mantha... Mike thought to himself, concluding the name had a good flow to it regardless of actual meaning. It certainly seemed to fit the machine. Noticing other pilots beginning to board their mobile suits, the dark haired pilot leaped over the railing towards the floor next to the grey monster. A second technician was standing next to the mobile armour's head, saluting Mike as he landed. "Lieutenant Layden - Harold Ibrim of the Facility, here to perform a final check on the machine and oversee your full integration with it." Something about this man worried Mikhail. He'd met with a few people from the Facility, and they were far more cautious in their mannerisms. This man's speech made it seem more like Mikhail was a circuit board or sensor, rather than a pilot. He'd have to keep his name in mind and look into him. "I see," he responded, touching down on the platform holding the suit and giving a salute back to the man - he didn't necessarily have to, as the Facility existed beyond military rank, but he didn't want to arouse any hostile feelings in the man. "There isn't much time before the operation begins. We'd better get started." Harold gave a nod, before typing a code and pulling a small release switch out from the face of the MS. With a mechanical whir the faceplate slid open, revealing a panoramic monitor setup and a linear chair suspended from the rear. Despite the size of the machine, the cockpit was only marginally larger than a standard mobile suit's. "Go ahead and sit in the chair. This will only take a minute," Dr. Ibrim ordered in a no-nonsense tone. Mikhail did as told, disdain for the doctor growing the more he spoke. "I've just got to tune the psycommu to adjust to your current brainwaves to ensure optimal performance," he added, having now climbed into the cockpit and uncovered a small box's front panel. As he was doing so, Mikhail brought the controls to rest and situated himself in the extremely uncomfortable chair. Could have at least broken it in if they were truly looking for 'optimal performance.' Mikhail was familiar with the idea of psycommu through a series of talks with doctors at the facility. Newtypes emitted non-electrical pulses from their brain dubbed imaginatively "psycho waves," and this system converted these into a format capable of interfacing with machinery - auxiliary control of mechanisms of the suit, or utilization of all-ranged attack weapons known as bits or funnels. However, he found it hard to imagine himself as a newtype, even still. To think he had extra-sensory capabilities was a bit much for him to take in. However, he could control the mobile device bits through a psycommu system - it was direct proof of his enhanced genus staring him in the face. Nevertheless he had trouble accepting it, and did not talk about it with anyone he didn't need to. "Alright - that's it. Good luck out there, Lieutenant Layden. I hope you push the Quin Mantha to its limits and provide the Facility with the data we're looking for on it - and you." Mikhail responded with a promise of doing so, but he now had a small wish to sabotage their data based on Dr. Ibrim's parting words - however, that would not benefit the Sects, as much as it would bring him the personal joy of petty revenge. Harold backed away from the machine, exitting the hanger via the lower entrance. He had delayed the Quin Mantha's launch, ultimately, but it was of little consequence. The Quin would be the last of the forces to launch, and tuning the psycommu was a necessary step, if lengthy. They should be grateful it took him as quickly as it did - earlier models required upwards of five minutes to finetune, but the newer model installed within Quin was capable of self-approximation to within a certain range, drastically speeding the process up. Now the cockpit sealed, and for a few moments the only lights in the cockpit were those on the instrument panel infront of him, emitting a soft blue glow. Moments later the glow began to shine brightly, a very audible whoomph signalling the compact fusion reactor's startup. Serious power now coursed through the veins of the Quin Mantha, capacitors for various weapons filling as it did so. Each panel of the panoramic display blinked to life, patches of the world around him slowly becoming visible. Text moved over them displaying many different occurences within the machine - there were, in effect, far too many going on and off at once to read all of them, but it wasn't expected of the pilot to. If something went wrong with them it would display a message in bold red letters in the middle of a panel so as to catch the pilot's attention, and he'd be able to respond from there. As soon as the words "All Systems Nominal" appeared across the front panels, he began to lift the mobile armour from the floor. This was not done via the machine itself (although it could have been), instead the platform on which the armour was laying raised vertically, until the machine was upright. The twin eyes of the face lit up brightly a moment afterward, returning to a cooler light blue colour immediately afterward as it began to walk forward. Mikhail checked all of the weapons' statuses as it advanced - the 30 funnels were now halfway charged, the beam sabres had a full charge, and the various mega particle cannons across the machine had many varying levels, all of them nearly completed. As it actually exitted the hanger, the door of it dropped down vertically behind it. All other MS had launched already, and were heading towards the target. Detaching from the hull of the ship via disengaging the magnetic 'soles' on the feet, the Quin hovered above the catapult (unable to actually use it due to size constraints) before accelerating forward sharply. The force of acceleration wasn't very poignant, but it was more pronounced than if it were a standard model suit via the fact of being in the head, rather than the torso. Still, it was nothing a trained pilot couldn't tolerate by any means. The six Jenice were a ways ahead of him - 6500 metres and increasing. Nonetheless they had assumed the formation expected of them, even without the Quin to provide the backbone. His personal flight journal held between his index finger and thumb in front of his face going over his previous battles and sorties. Studying his previous tactics, what had worked and what failed. More to the point why certain things worked and why others didn't. He realized his comfort zone in engagements was medium to close range. The Legend would have worked for him if it had been built with a Psycommu system instead of being based on a quantum computer. The Dynames was too reliant on keeping it's targets at long range and hitting slower targets. But Jon was trained to be a close range striker. That's why he was reassigned a new suit based on his combat data from the Dynames. It was almost time, he could see the stars slowing through his window. The red lights flicked on as the ship went to combat stations. He zipped up the rest of his flight suit to the center of his neck. It was a snug fit, but was designed to be. As he would be piloting a rather high performance suit and would need the extra pressure on his body to make up for the lack of gravity. Humans just weren't naturally built for space dispite having managed to filter into it. A short trip to the hanger and he noticed all the support and maintainance techs were making thier way out of the hanger save for a few figures hovering around a massive blue and white suit with gold trim. "Ah, there you are Lt. over here." He was pushed along gently towards it. It loosely resembled the Exia in general shape, but seemed more...developed he would have to say if anything. "Is this the Exia?..." he asked trailing off. The Hanger Chief nodded and glanced up to it as technicians were doing power checks on the GN drive. "After it's loss on Earth to the Terrans we revisited the design and came up with an upgrade package for it. It expands on the Exia's capabilities and enhances it's performance as great as the Trans Am system does, but for a longer sustained amount of time. However you should know that it does have a cap. You'll only have roughly 10 minutes of active combat time. It's alot longer than the experimental Trans Am. But at the end you'll suffer very degraded performance values so you'll need to make maximum use of it." Jon glanced up to it, it was truely an impressive machine, this was it. This was his mobile suit, his extension in combat. "What's it called?" The Chief folded his arms as he responded. "GN-001/hs-A01 Gundam Avalanche Exia". Jon realized it all clearly now as the connections were finally shown. The true power of Exia...."Avalanche Exia...." The Chief slapped him in the back. "Better go, your squads launched." Jon nodded and put his helmet on as he kicked off the ground towards the Avalanche equipped Exia and climbed into the cockpit. He checked the GN drives power output. The levels were phenomenal as it reached a steady output level consistent with Trans Am use. He griped the controls and sealed the cockpit up giving his signal to move the Exia into launch position. He checked the confirmation lights in the HUD and made sure everything was ready. Once he got all green he radioed in. "This is Jonathan Masters. Gundam Avalanche Exia launching." The GN Drive spun up to it's enhanced full power, green GN particles flooding the empty hanger as the Exia hurtled out of the Acheron leaving a sparkling green trail of GN particles behind it. The thrust and power the suit now commanded was far beyond anything he was used to it. He had to actually focus himself while using this machine. He noticed on his side panel, that the other two aces had mobilized as well. His suit had no difficulty at all catching up to his own squad of Xeku Eins. His own suit took it's position between the 2 middle most suits of the formation. "Form up, Delta formation." Jon declared into the comm as the suits fell into formation. 2 groups of 1 of each type. The Assault rifle Eins were in the lead, with the Type 3's to thier flanks using thier Machinge guns, and the Type 2's in the rear of the squad armed with thier Beam Smartguns. Jon positioned the Avalanche Exia between them as a concealment element as his squad formed a line with the other 2 advancing units and fell in to attack. The raids had gone unnoticed long enough that Acacia Station was almost on the verge of simply being shut down and abandoned like an outdated skylab. His arrival and subsequent encounter with the Phantom Blade had changed that, and for this reason alone Quirinus had made Acacia his home for the last four days. In that time, he used his connections to pull a new battalion up for defense, courtesy of the 2nd Autonomous. Unfortunately, the only available ship besides his own Vanaheim was an old Albion-class abandoned by DSDI operatives gone under deep cover. He thought he'd put them to use rather well, all things considered. Assessing the threat posed to Acacia by raid parties was difficult; while the location held no strategic value, it was clear the Sects enjoyed running little games here. Little toys like Amalthea. The wreckage of a dozen Columbus-class freighters sunk by that girl drifted around the fuel station still, but as of yesterday they had a few new friends. Twenty seven Trojan Horses lingered on the opposite end of a twenty-kilometer stretch from the rear of the Lunarian group to the last of the Pegasus-class 'ships'. Logistics made the fleet movement practically impossible, but the nature of the inflatable dupes made them more than useful here. Their large number, from a distance, made this appear to a risky venture for anything short of a full fleet...or a deadly new weapon waiting to be tested on hapless fringe defenses. The Argama-class Vanaheim had spent the last three days deploying the decoys, and waited quietly at the rear of the massive formation; he had placed the commander of the new squadron here, while the Albion joined him on the leftmost edge of the Pegasus formation, perfectly camouflaged among inflatable copies of itself. Its hangars were empty, of course, and crew minimal due to resource shortages; only the damaged Ashura slept within its hold, hidden in a milky white insulated tarp. Acacia itself was alive with light, covered in landing beacons and antennae, its cargo holds wide open to reveal stacks of volatile fuel canisters. A legless, one-armed Taurus stood watch over the man-made asteroid, seemingly strapped to the rock at the torso while a beam cannon pressed its barrel into one of the station's exhaust ports. Its translucent visor flickered code through the dead space to anyone who could read it-- Morse, an ancient leftover from old Earth. M Y N A M E I S Q U I R I N U S His Dolls stirred from their slumber, moving to the head of the Pegasus formation-- five all together, scattered amongst the dummies for maximum effectiveness. They were familiar by now, certainly, for their name and series was touted as the future: Virgo. The second in the line, this model was to mark the beginning of bloodless war...but not until the Psyco Gundam made it necessary. R E M E M B E R I T W E L L As the trace suit enveloped his bruised frame, he counted the steps of his plan in silence. While he hadn't expected someone to run into his trap so soon, his preparations were at least halfway complete. He needed to get a look at those ships, though...and Ridley needed to be informed. Tearing away the second skin from his face, he activated the short-wave radio to deliver a message into the sea of ships. "I think they see us." Releasing the radio switch, the green-haired pilot settled back inside the cockpit of his GN-X, not quite tense, but not entirely relaxed, either. Simply...ready. His eyes scanned across his wide monitors, noting the location of his squadron's suits. Close by him floated Vanir 1 and Vanir 2, the pair of G-Cannons piloted by what had been the Vanaheim's former squadron leader before Ridley had arrived, and his number two, with Ridley himself being Vanir 8. Around them he could see the dummy ships of the fleet, and further out among them he could see Vanir 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 in their Heavyguns. He had been returning from a black-ops operation not too far from the area when the call had gone out for assistance four days ago, and it had two him nearly three to arrive, where he had promptly taken command of the Vanaheim's mobile suit operations, much to the dismay of it's former leader, not that he had any say in the matter. To be honest, he had his doubts about the sanity of this Quirinus...well, to be completely honest, if he were a free man, he would cheerfully murder the officer who currently held his leash if it weren't for his mental conditioning. As it was, even his outer self, his public personality expressed doubt about the man's battle plan...but he was still his commanding officer, and as such, Ridley obeyed. And so he waited, the violet eyes of his grey mobile suit glowing softly in the darkness as it's clawed hands gripped it's beam rifle, waiting silent and immobile near the rear of the dummy fleet's formation roughly a kilometer and a half ahead of the Vanaheim itself...waiting. Waiting for the right time to go into action and reveal itself, along with the rest of the Vanir Squadron. All are near the back of the dummy fleet, the mobile suits being 1500 to 2000 meters in front of the Vanaheim. It took a moment for the crews to get over the initial shock of being so outgunned before they went back to work. The situation was serious indeed, they were severely outgunned and in the middle of nowhere as far as reinforcements went, if they lost this battle they'd be hardpressed to retreat back to the nearest Side which was quite a distance away. It wasn't until the officer in charge of the operation, a woman known as Colonel Audrey Pusca, spoke that order truly came back to the bridge. "All hands, go back to your stations, all squads, an incoming fleet detected, 29 ships total from what we've detected. Engage at will, but proceed with the utmost caution. Also, while I don't know what the Council was thinking... Our orders are to destroy the station, not capture it, so under no circumstances approach it in case of traps and friendly fire." As the Colonel's orders resonated through the comm. system of the entire strike force, lances of beam began to fire everywhere from both the Yaldabaoth and Archeron as they sent a barrage of beams at the station, no one was quite sure what the hell the Lunarian government was thinking with the order to destroy it instead of capture it, but nonetheless they obeyed their orders and at least it'd be an unexpected course of action for the enemies. "Who the hell is Quirinus though..." The Colonel whispered those words as the Sect forces began to open fire. The empty battlefield was lit up in beams at the two ships began an all-out attack on the small refueling station, the Mobile Suit squads still continuing their approach as suddenly the pilot of the Commander-type Geara Zulu spoke. "S-Sir, the enemy fleet, according to my sensors, it's a fake. Almost all of them, if not all of them are dummies." His voice was filled with both relief and confusion as he spoke, it was a private channel for all the Sect forces to hear. The Commander-type's advanced sensory suite thanks to the Long Rifle had allowed it to detect what the ships had missed, a wave of relief going through the squads and ship crews alike as their worries were relieved even slightly. "Alpha squad, engage the enemy fleet at will, take down those dummies so we know what the hell is going on..." The voice this time was the pilot of the Hand, a mercenary by the name of Lian. He was certain that there had to be some kind of Federation force hidden in those dummies, it didn't make sense otherwise, unless this base was completely and utterly defenseless, and he found that impossible due to the fact that their approach should have been known by now... Following orders, the Commander-type began to open fire with the Long Rifle, the only unit in the Alpha squad currently capable of actually engaging the enemy dummies with some level of accuracy. Meanwhile, Lian pressed forward, the Hand leading the charge as they continued to move further into the battlefield, he'd engage the enemy forces if there were any in the first place and leave the path open for the Quin Mantha to attack. Hopefully the Exia would prove useful to some level. And so, switching to a private channel, exclusive to the Quin Mantha, Lian took a deep breath. "Engage the enemy ships as soon as possible, I'll cover you as best I can. Those were the orders given to me, so contact me if you encounter any problems." Lian's voice was filled with a bit of excitement, but it was mostly business-like as usual. He was situated about a kilometre back from them, and they had begun to spread out drastically. They now formed a rather large circle, about three kilometres in diametre "around" the Quin Mantha. Mikhail paused here, as Lian's transmission was received. For the ships? No problem. Mikhail responded with confirmation of his orders, and the grey beast began moving forward again. Checking the capacitors on his various weapons, he noted they had all been filled. Given this, he decided to test his weapons out immediately, in the direction of the enemy fleet. Each chest mounted mega particle gun began to collect energy for a couple of seconds, before exhuming it in a massive beam of energy, slightly larger than your average battleship shot. For four seconds it fired this way, sweeping through the battlefield as a torrent of energy, before it began to change. In a moment's notice the beam began to fan out, hundreds upon hundreds of smaller beams lancing out over the battlefield in a beautiful light array. It was rather widespread, and each individual beam was rather weak in comparison to the previous stream, but the sheer density of them and the constant rearranging of blasts over the next 8 seconds more than made up for their inaccuracy.

The unusually high amount of fuel stacked into the base sparked in an instant, creating a fire wave that spread wide enough to obscure the entire center third of the Federal fleet. Prompted by this, the Shoggoth fired a volley of timed anti-beam missiles, which soared out through the flames and detonated just beyond their reach, filling the field ahead in Minovsky particles. While the ship's gunners loaded a second volley, Quirinus' troops used their presence among the ships to their advantage by deploying planet defensors ahead of the fleet. No shots struck, or even showed signs of impacting near the Pegasus swarm, just as planned. The fuel-fed fire within the crumbling asteroid station continued just long enough to ensure nothing stable was left of the rock-- and then, silence again. Quirinus eyed the approaching line from a blurry distance, he sat perfectly camouflaged beside the Albion-class' engine block, fading into the darkness beyond them. Opening his communications, he switched frequencies to one of the standard transmission channels lifted from Exia's captured core block. Suddenly a voice filled the airwaves, taunting the engaging attack group-- but not his. "Nice trick... But it'll take more than a light show to beat me!" exclaimed Amalthea Sain, regular pilot of the Longinus. "You just left yourself wide open." The second barrage, generated entirely by a single source approaching from the mobile suit lines, met with greater success; the planet defensors had not been deployed in a wide enough pattern to have any chance of defending against them. In a matter of seconds, fourteen of the ships had exploded, bursting into flames as their inflatable frames collapsed in the hellish fire of the enemy mobile armor. Quirinus shifted his focus to the assumed source, charging his own cannon arrays while ensuring his team was ready to deal with a third salvo. A quick pulse of Morse through the Psyco's eyes prompted the Shoggoth to deliver his orders to the dolls: open fire. Responding promptly, the quintet of automatons began firing into the space between ship groups, still hidden among the surviving inflatables to give the illusion of a larger force. They spread out to make the incoming fire from the Mobile Dolls less of a problem. They in return opened fire as well, mixing thier shots between the MD's and the false ships. Jon kept his gaze focused on the target ahead of them. They were here to cripple the fuel facility and weaken the Terrans travel capacity in space. It wasn't a hard tactic to predict. Weaken your enemies reach. Made them less effective. Five sets of beams lanced out from the swarm of dummy ships as the Heavyguns went into action, diving arounds the formations of false Pegasus-class ships and adding their fire to that of the mobile dolls, the particle blasts lancing out toward the incoming enemy. Meanwhile, Ridley's GN-X, escorted by the two G-Cannons stay back near the Vanaheim, as the ship itself buzzed with activity...not that it could be seen from the outside, of course. All weapons were being charged, including the hyper mega particle cannon, and crews were now at battlestations. From afar, of course, it looked no different from the other dummy Argama-class vessels around it...which had lucky been spared the brunt of the blast, being the farthest from the attack. We still running on minimum power?" "Yessir, as you ordered." was the bridge-crews reply, confirming something that he could already tell from the state of the ship. Alastar smiled, checking the seal on his suit's helmet. His suit, an up-gunned Javelin model, stood on the launch ramp. Behind him, in two orderly lines on the launch ramps, sat almost a dozen mobile suits. Mostly the mainstay Heavygun used widely by the UTF, two others where Alastar's own wingmen: a pair of F71 G-Cannons. Rarer and more powerful, they where to be rather key to his whole plan. He made a mental note to remind command that they should paint their suits a darker color next time. It was haphazard, but it was still in-line with what he'd been ordered to do. The Morning Glory had been floating steadily towards the enemy. It had gone from a full thruster burn down to as minimum power while retaining most of the required systems. This did not, of coure, even involve life-support. As a result the entire crew had suited up in their suits and taken their positions somewhat on edge. Still, it was going to work. He hoped... "Alright, lets go. Remember, keep your thrusts to minor bursts. Verniers over main thrusters and space them out. Black team hangs back, white team moves with me. You know this all, lets just get to it, alright?" Nylias said over the ships communications, avoiding broadcasting any important information about their position over even that closed of a channel. And that was all he said, the Javelin rocketting from the bay alongside one of the many Heavyguns. Pair by pair they deployed, using momentum and brief flashes of thrust to propel them on. And then they waited... They waited as the enemy approached beneath them. It was a gambit, but given the chaos of battle upon them, Alastar was hoping their ruse and lack of activity would be enough to cloak their intents until it was time to make the strike. It was approaching from above, separate to the Federation fleet, due to this, the scatter around it was considerably less than that of the main fleet, though enough to make it hard to know the specifics. However, given the proximity of the approaching object, apparently a ship, the Lunarians changed target for time being due to the recent barrage of anti-beam missiles that had made it even harder to fire upon the main Federation fleet. The Archeron unleashed a barrage of missiles as it positioned itself to fire the main cannon upon the ship. The Yaldabaoth's many cannons also took aim and unleashed a wall of particle death upon the enemy, the missiles joining in for a barrage shortly afterwards, there would be no mercy for the Federation forces. Meanwhile, the Mobile Doll barrage from the main fleet was almost completely ineffective, what wasn't affected by their own anti-beam screen was too inaccurate and weakened by the extreme range to be of any effect. A single Geara Zulu losing the left leg but the rest coming out of the barrage almost completely unscathed. The message was received with some wariness but due to the fact that almost all of the Lunarian soldiers present at the moment weren't part of the same squad Amalthea was in, or even knew her, they didn't quite recognize the voice and thus weren't shaken by the apparent betrayal. Meanwhile, the Lunarian Mobile Suit squads continued their advance, the Geara Zulus unleashing a return volley upon the enemy fleet, though not expecting much out of it. They had the advantage of rapid fire due to their machine guns but at these ranges, the chances of scoring a hit were almost non-existant once the scatter began to pick up on both sides. While the normal Zulus returned fire upon the main fleet, the Commander type chose a new target, the same target the ships were firing upon, unleashing a duo of 200mm shots at the large object. Lian and his Hand of Retribution also joined into the attack, the strange looking unit firing the high beam cannon, a rather large shot of extreme power, aimed to rip through the center of the Morning Glory's bottom side due to angle, and pierce it from side to side. Meanwhile, the Colonel responded to the Federation threats with a message of her own. "For someone who barks so loud, your bite definitely doesn't match. Show us what you can do, Earthnoid scum. Mikhail's mind raced backwards, thinking of the last time he had seen the pilot on the ship. She hadn't been a part of this operation, it had been a few days since he'd seen her, at least. What in the world was she doing here - and furthermore, on the enemy side? That would make no sense, yet there was her voice. Her reasoning couldn't be contended with now - she was an apparent enemy, and that was all there was to it right now. Emotional shutout; that was the ticket. The psycommu system was tempermental, still - testing had shown that emotional reaction effected the efficiency of the system indirectly through altering the mind's 'output' of the waves. It was vital he kept himself as calm as possible to collect higher quality data for it. That was his reasoning, and quickly responded by shutting off his communication systems. The less he heard her voice the less he'd be reminded of it. Incoming fire streaked beautifully around the Quin, like a syncronized laser show. Except the lasers would kill you if you got in their path and keep on going. One moved directly towards the Quin, the grey monster steadily chugging forwards towards it, before stopping a few metres away from the torso of the suit. Streaks of electrical discharge illuminated a field around the Quin Mantha, before bouncing back away from the machine. The mobile suit shuddered, coming to an abrupt stop for a moment as it happened, then continued back forwards. "Alright... Funnels!" he said to himself outloud, a spark of enthusiasm thrown into it quickly. Eight remote controlled bells shot outwards from the back binder of the machine, immediately reversing direction and coming back to face in the same orientation as their mother unit. From this position they sped forward once more, crossing the combat area very rapidly towards the opposing fleet. Which are real... Have to focus!... There!? The funnels would proceed to surround a remaining dummy ship, eight beams lancing into the "mass" of it before repositioning. No... How many more are there? I can't find them... In a flurry of movement, the funnels kept themselves moving to avoid incoming fire as best as possible. There was a distinct few seconds of this, before they encircled a G-Cannon and fired another salvo. The accompanying Jenice had stopped a few hundred metres back, hanging around as an interception force for units that slipped by the Quin. They maintained a rough "ring" formation, zipping in and out of fire from the enemy fleet. One of them got tagged directly in the upper thigh, cleaving through the MS. An explosion tore the rest of the mobile suit apart, disintegrating the machine almost instantly. In response, the formation loosened up before retightening, filling in the space appropriately where the downed Jenice had occupied. Far behind even them was the Longinus, having positioned towards the opposing fleet now. An absolutely massive volley of shots struck out from the equally massive ship, aiming to saturate the enemy's fleet even further. Word had reached that several of them were dummy ships - unfortunately, at this range, there was no telling which were the dummies and which weren't for the ship. It had begun moving forwards and turnin slightly, on a course to arc away from the battlefield while heading towards it at the same time to expose its broad side. Kicking off of the Shoggoth's hull, the enormous Psyco Gundam spun out above the stark white fleet with guns aglow in a brilliant violet. For a moment, he was as bright as the sun, releasing the full strength of the mobile armor's ten scattering mega particle cannons, one by one, across the field of Lunarian ships. Something had caught his eye just before unleashing the salvo, however; he'd seen his counterpart, the massive armor leading the closest troops towards him. The Psyco's thrusters kicked it up high enough to edge into the Vanaheim's field of view, even from the rear of the formation. A flash of its massive arm-mounted beam swords marked a gesture that called for a quick reply to the Longinus' assault, which continued on to destroy all but three of the remaining dummies. "Fire, fools! Fire!" The Albion-class's mega particle guns shot red lightning from their thick barrels, aimed at the enormous enemy ship's center of mass. The secondary guns soon followed, buying time for the missile launchers to reload. The legless Taurus that had only moments ago been tethered to Acacia station drifted in the field between the approaching forces, sizing up the fleet with its remaining sensors while its beam cannon melted in its grip. A pair of Virgos darted towards the Psyco, deploying their defensors ahead to catch up with their commanding officer, beam cannons charging for another barrage against the incoming troops. Thanks to the other two sqauds attacks they'd managed to thin out the numbers enough that his closer proximity made it easier to determine which were false. He relayed the information to the Hand and Quin Mantha as he passed by the remaining dummys. Thier negative temperature reading indicated no power, or propulsion which would save the ships and suits time and ammo. The Xeku Eins opened fire with thier weapons on the Fuel Processing Plant as soon as the team breached the 'line' held by the dummy ships. The Exia reached it's arm up and dragged the GN Sword along the length of one of the decoys to deflate it. "Push forward and don't let up." Jon declared over the comm. He could feel the other newtype in the Quin. It was impressively well designed. The way it harnessed his power was something of a little bit of a mystery to him. The Psycommu system was still high tech talk for him. But Jon could feel the Quins pilot. But....he could also feel someone on the other side. Someone in a massive suit. The curse shot out over the radio from Vanir 2 as it was surrounded by funnels, and only the pilot's quite reflexes kept him alive...but with a crippled suit, with one four-barreled machine cannon and a left arm spiraling off into space and exploding as they were ripped from the G-Cannon's body by beam fire. The other, undamaged G-Cannon opened fire on the remotes, as did the GN-X piloted by Ridley, the F71 opening fire with it's machine cannons and the GN Tau drive equipped unit repeatedly firing it's beam rifle and vulcans as it moved forward in a flash of red particles toward the funnels, Vanir 1 providing fire support as the crippled Vanir 2 fell back toward the Vanaheim. Meanwhile, the Heavyguns had detected the passing of a squadron of mobile suits, and the five mass produced mobile suits halted their attacks and as soon as the six Xeku Eins and the Exia has began to pass through the dummy ships, they sprung their ambush. From behind a pair of dummies the five mobiles suits boosted thier way clear and opened fire, the RGM-109s focusing fire on the Type 3 equipped units. At the very end of the line, the Vanaheim started moving and firing, sending out a volley of beams at the Longinus in support of the Shoggoth. Argama-class Vanaheim, charging HMPC, and opening fire with other weapons at Longinus 1x GN-X (Player), engaging funnels 1x G-Cannon (Vanir 1), providing fire support for GN-X 1x G-Cannon (Vanir 2), damaged, falling back toward Vanaheim 5x Heavyguns, engaging Xeku Eins

Shots went wide, missiles found that they where intercepted by the defending mobile suits more then having a chance to find their marks. And the already amusingly inaccurate beam weaponry simply flashed around the vessel. But it was a professional vessel, with a hardened crew. They knew the job over and under. No one panicked. They just retaliated. The captain was quick on his feet, giving a fast order to push the ship to maximum, begin the particle compression for the main gun, and gave an order to fire off a barrage of Minovsky warheads into the dead center of the enemy fleet. The command was simple. Full barrage, and fire for effect. Aim for maximum spread. It was a simple job, really. Without needing to hit the enemy there wasn't much to the orders. And by the time the first half-dozen had exploded and delivered their debilitating payload into the enemy fleet another half-dozen would be on their way to solidify that predicament. Alastar had to hand it to the enemy, however. And, at the same time, take away. They where cautious, but twitchy too. He looked back as the Morning Glory began to advance, turning it's bow towards the enemy fleet with a more distinct angle. The main weapon was getting ready for it's big show. His part in the play, however, wasn't yet begun. The Javelin began advancing at full speed, no need for subtle advances now that it was found out, and the rest of White Team joined along for the ride. Shields up, they held fire as they raced for the enemy fleet, watching as the Minovsky warheads flew overhead. "Radio cut soon, you all know your jobs. Stick close and watch each other. I'll see you after this is all done." he said, noticing the Yaldabaoth for the first time. A unique feeling washed over him as he extended himself outwards, wondering if perhaps the strange feelings he'd had lately would manifest themselves against as he searched for the impressions of lost friends and new enemies. The large majority missed but a few struck true, striking both the Yaldabaoth and Archeron. The massive Yaldabaoth was for the most part fine, the beams had been glancing hits on the ship's left side, leaving some holes in the hull as the crew quickly recovering their composure and returning fire in kind. The Archeron meanwhile had suffered more severe damage, though not enough to fully cripple it, the top and sides had been peppered with holes as several beams hit all over, luckily the low armament sported by the ship also made it that much harder to cripple the long-range capabilities. As the Archeron's crew finished their assessments of the damage, it also returned fire, this time focusing on the Shoggoth, they'd leave the new arrival to the forces currently approaching it. Mobile Suits were best for anti-ship combat after all. The enormous display of beams from the Yaldabaoth was on the other hand, focused on the Vanaheim, which they had assessed as a bigger threat than the Shoggoth. Meanwhile, the Morning Glory's assault was less than effective, the Minovsky missiles were intercepted before they had a chance at the fleet, Alpha squadron had intercepted them as they continued their approach on the Morning Glory's position. The Geara Zulus opened fire on the G-Cannons, unleashing a rather big barrage of rapid-fire beams which aimed to cover as much area as possible to limit their movement. The Commander-type meanwhile, aimed at the Morning Glory once more, aiming to put a shot straight through the bridge with its superior accuracy and firepower, it was the team sniper after all. Lian and his new toy, the Hand of Retribution continued their approach as well, moving to engage the enemies in what it did best, melee combat. Though that didn't stop Lian from firing off a sextet of beams, three from each of the mounted beam guns, aiming to tear apart a Heavygun from White Team, the first set had been aimed for the top portion of the torso, the second set had been for the lower area and the last set had been sent at the groin area. He felt....aggression? Suddenly the radar pinged an alarm. 5 Mobile suits had whirled around behind the Decoy and opened fire on the Xekus. He whipped the Exia around quick and opened fire into the decoy they had flown out from. As he fired into the side next to them hoping to deflate it and obscure thier view. If nothing else it would at least eliminate the last of them. A green sparkling trail of particles followed the Exia as it arced tightly falling into formation tightly with the Xeku's. "Report!" "Team 1 all green" "Team 2 has suffered a little damage." "Who?" Jon asked as the team twirled around evasively while returning fire. "Vasquez sir. Nothing serious, but his suit can't broadcast comms anymore and his leg has been compromised." "Rotate formation, put the smartguns up front. Assault rifles cover them with Bazookas in the back for support. How long till we reach the target?" "Another minute sir." Funny how that almost seemed like an eternity so far. And all they'd done was haul ass in. He gave his team sargent a nod. "Ok, throttle it up. Watch your six, and lets finish this job. Remember we came to wreck the fuel plant first and foremost." Jon fell into the rear of the formation and powered up his GN field to shield the teams as best he could.
